~ Pieces of You, of Me

~ Pieces of You, of, Me
There is no time limit to grief

Just shock, horror, disbelief

And “well doers” seek a smile

Insisting grief is but a little while
But this cannot possibly be true;

The loss so great, left? Pieces of me, of you

Shattered, scattered pieces, all so consuming

And Time is no friend, but foe, amongst the dead, the living
So let the mourning mourn, long as they must

They’ve been caught in reality of “Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust”

And Life never ore to be the same

Yet, the mourners good memories shall sustain
Death is so finale.

Departures and Grief

Exceptional understanding of loss and the void left in ones life “when Death steps in”. Reblogged on The Works of A. L. O’Prunty

Eadar Doodles + Cheese

I’ve been preoccupied with death today. More accurately with grief.

A colleague found out on Monday that her sister had died. Based on what they know so far, she died in her sleep. The sister had not suffered with a long-time illness. She was healthy in all appearances. Strong, happy, and healthy is how my colleague described her. Happy. This adjective is the least meaningful in a diagnosis, but it is still so important to the people that love her. “She was happy, how could she die?” or “At least she had a happy life.”

To get that call — someone you love has died. Not a death you were expecting. Not an elder come sweetly to the end of their winter. Not the afflicted finally at peace. She was strong, happy and healthy. And now she is gone.

But you are still here — waiting your turn or running…

~ Sacrifice
My love has nowhere to go

No destination

Held fast within my being

My very core

Trapped…unseen
Blessed was I

With the capacity to love

To give without thought

To surrender self,

Receiving naught
Still, love grew old

Took its last breath, repose

And laden is the heart

With yesteryear thought…
And Cupids cruel, cruel, dart.

~ Soul Searching

In a parallel universe

My loved ones still guide

Though somewhere beyond the

Ether, they reside
I Am a composite of all

That came before me

Accepting both good and bad

That within I see
Thought breaks conscious boundary

“Introspection sets any soul free”

And life, life is so fleeting

It demands crystal clarity.
