Once, not too long ago
In the land of ice and snow
Lived a pretty princess
And her penguin, Tippy-Toe,
now they lived in the palace
I must say it was nice
Chisled to perfection
From the purest form of ice
One day they were sledding
Carefree down the hill
Hit upon a snowdrift
Tippy-toe and Merry-el
Finding themselves upside down
Heads hidden below ground
Looked, then blinked their eyes
A land of green to their surprise!
There the sun was shining bright
And a child flew a kite
Not wrapped in wool from cold
Running through the field so bold
Merry-el started climbing down
Til her boots hit the ground
Tippy-toe right by her side
Wished he had a place to hide!
Penguins do not like it hot
A cool breeze hits the spot
Add to that, mounds of snow
That’s the way the penguins roll!
Merry-el saw her friend’s distress
The heat and sun made him a mess
So up! Up! She did climb
Back to the land of winter time
Tippy-Toe flipped and flopped
Merry-el skipped and hopped
Deciding she liked green alright
But beauty lay in winter white
So in the land of ice and snow
With drifts just so, so
Merry-el and Tippy-Toe
Pass them by very slow.
