~ Being Human

“Strive as we might, our humanity keeps us from perfection -that great illusion – And it is our humanity that tortures our thoughts when a “mistake” has been made. A mistake is paid for once, yet, our humanity guilts us, shames us, ’til we bankrupt our souls, still, believing we can obtain the unattainable…the perfect”… O’Prunty 2/13/17

The Sound of Silence

I’ve not had time, to mourn, the loss of you

The battle overwheliming- my allies few-

Still, I’ll honor your last will, last word…

Somtimes strength is silent, unheard.

~ Mother Said…

Mom said:
Never go to bed angry – it steals your peace
Never hold a grudge – it steals your soul
Never disrespect your elders – it steals your dignity
Never bullie – it steals your humanity
Never steal or let someone steal from you
That’s what Mom said.

~.Thansgiving Blessing

“Happy Thanksgiving Day family

& Friends –

Remember to give thanks for the little things, someday you’ll see them trough memories larger than life, and recall, they were not the small blessings after all…but the ones that seen you through the toughest of times, as the universal clock rewinds”…O’Prunty

Liquid fire consumesAs her affection

Crossed the great divide

Surging through blood and vein;

Who was I to refrain?
2
In similitude

Of a setting sun

His brilliance dazzled

The senses;

Mesmerizing mirage

Dissipates

3
As Phoenix rising

From ashes

A slice of heaven

In the form song

Resonates throughout

The civilized world
4
Viewing verdant valley vistas

Voluptuous vineyards vining

Vibrant vitality
5
In our current era

A rare phenomenon

To lead

And yet follow
6
There was no sign

Telling her

Love could hurt,

Die out as fast as it flared

Alone, she wanders

And wonders

The use, abuse of the L word
7
A leap of faith

Drives out the emptiness

Soothes soul;

An innate need to

Connect, palpable

8
A delicate frost

Traces as fragile fingers

Lining the green

Sparkling as diamonds

‘Neath a rising sun

9
Labored heartbeats remind us, we are still alive.
10
Fragile frost crystals

Dawn dawning resplendently

Slowly Night conceded
11
…and I shall sing

‘Til Death

With his cold insensate

Lips, silences mine

To sing no more;

Defiant to the bitter end.

12
Tiny toes barefoot

Crisp crackle of amber leaves

A child’s laughter
13
Fall is falling fast

A mound of leaves enticing

Inner child plays

14
Suddenly, I was simply old

The passage of time

Lined, without mercy
I broke the mirror
15
Hope is the rope

All cling to;

Last of the gifts

Lifting us above

Raw realities
16
Lady’s do not chase

Less they repel

The object of

Their deepest desire
An easy catch is

Tossed back
17
Sometimes

The impromptu moment

Last a lifetime
18
Troubled thoughts seek

Calmer waters

A sacred stillness

From the Devine
Within the standing stones

One is never alone

Rising to the occasion

Ancient answers

19
You silence

Speaks

Louder

Than

Heavens thunder
