~ My Sweet

~ My Sweet

Shall I pick thee berries
one
by
one
Warm ‘neath this
Sultry sun,

Whose succulent juices
upon
the tongue to play

As taste and touch gives sway

To this day, ‘neath a sultry sun
Shall I pick thee Berries
one
by
one?

~ Sacrifice

~ Sacrifice
My love has nowhere to go

No destination

Held fast within my being

My very core

Trapped…unseen
Blessed was I

With the capacity to love

To give without thought

To surrender self,

Receiving naught
Still, love grew old

Took its last breath, repose

And laden is the heart

With yesteryear thought…
And Cupids cruel, cruel, dart.

~ Soon

Soon
Soon
My Dove will fly
Welcoming me once more
Entwined, together, we’ll soar
To heights unknown
As ever before
To fall feather light
Dreaming.

~ The End?

~ The End. ~
Speak not of love and longing

Nevermore this heart to comply

Your essence was so fleeting

Now, how the years have passed by
In youth you were the fairytale –

Oh! How young hearts were deceived!

The knight, the maid in waiting

Dreams that became nightmares grieved
Speak not of love and longing

Nights are now a peaceful repose

Wrapped in words and wonderment

Drowsy these eyes, the book does close.

~ Nightingale

The nightingale lamenting
Sings a sorrowful song

Of hearts battered, broken

When Love has gone so wrong

He sings as if to know

The ache in every soul

Forlorn and longing

For what once made them whole
Yet, in his lament –

A true love is never spent

~ Speak to Me

~ Speak To Me
Of beauty-

A sunsets sigh

As it dips in glorious hues

‘Neath that vaulted sky

Surrendering to the sea,

As if in ecstasy
Or, the blood moon

Seducing the minds eye

Rising in passions color

Shameless, no hint of being shy

Dominating Night, compelling,

An orb so overwhelming
Your words I’ll hold,

Enfold, within my heart

Surging through blood and vein

‘Til freed, unrestrained

Beauty, shall have full reign
Speak to me.
