~ Moorefield in November ~

With crevices and curves
Peaks majestic
Peaks jetting skyward
Oh! Luscious vale!
Still velvety green!
Still producing!
One would say
You lay
As a fertility goddess
Surrounded by your
Faithful subjects,
Guarding your secrets

In my profession I travel quite often. This poem was written as I topped a mountain and was in awe at the lush valley below. As many poets, I always carry my poetry journals – “inspiration is found in the unexpected”.

Candescent sun rise
Cascading mountain fur pines
Clouds casting shadows
