~ Poppy Dreams

Poppy dreams dancing
She sways beneath the sun
Gentle breeze caressing
With nature, she is one

Lilting stream soothing
A cadence of bird song
Poppy dreams dancing
Invite for her alone

Azure tint of sky
Cloudlets gone astray
Slipping within deep slumber
Dreams beside her lay

Sun concedes to moon
Lashes flutter away
The art student awakens
Steps out of an Monet.

~ Upon His Canvas – Pondering A Monet ~

~ Upon His Canvas – Pondering A Monet ~

She walks by placid waters beaming

Splinters of light through leaves gleaming

Parasol, poppies in gloved grip

A hint of berries on glossed lip

A painting to the artists’ eye

A withheld breath within a sigh

She, nature’s adornment prized

Beneath airy ageless skies

Ever the same, ever changing

Shadow and light rearranging

Still she walks by waters beaming

Steps so light one must be dreaming

Parasol, poppies in gloved grip

A hint of berries on glossed lip.
