Crisp this April eve’
Fire in the sky warms
As anticipation rises

Lost in the cosmos
Eyes cast skyward
Thoughts higher still

In a blazing descent
A cascade of stars
Flame earthbound

A wish upon a wish
Upon a wish repeated
From grateful gazers

Ascending in whispers
Open hands waiting
To catch a falling star
