~ Autumns Arrangements

~ Autumns Arrangements

Crimson, lemon-drops, tangerine
Leaflets morph from their colours green,
A grand display of Mother Natures cape
Meandering, colours emerge in her wake

Her breath, a frosty hint exhaled
Lies across the land, flowers paled
And pumpkins, gourds, stalks reaped
Stand on display arranged at their peak

Cooler, the nights fall fast
Soon Winter will arrive, blast
Bringing snow laden scenes
And the colours of fall gone, unseen

For now these eyes will bathe in beauty
This seasonal vista as nature fulfills its duty
Decorating  hills, dales, mountains high
Vibrant colours mixing in the beholders eye

Mother Nature’s last gift before winter reign
In crimson, lemon-drops and tangerine
And falls sun highlighting the tips
Of colourful leaflets in swirling skips

Grace the land to form again
When Spring in danity glory steps in.

~ Morning Has Broken

~ Morning Has Broken
I wait…jasmine tea in hand

A break in the sound of silence, begins

Dew drips from leaf to leaf

Puddles, falls to the forest floor

First bird note heralds dawn breaking

Yet darkness still prevails

Light on the cusp of being

The sound of creatures scurry

Snap of twig, pawing of tiny claws

And the sound of lapping waters
Sun begins to scale the sky

Slowly, as if shyness hinders

Darkness dispels as if a dream unfolding

Tinged with various shades of blue gray

Ever changing before these eyes of wonderment
The world awakes to the symphony of bird song and wing

The sun rises higher as a promise from eastern lore

Hues of pinks, lavender, yellows and blues stun the senses;

A brush stroke darkened cloudlets float about here and there

As the warm descends, the mist ascends near ghostly
It is here, in the arms of nature, a continuum of time and space

I find my place…til the sun softly caresses, kisses my face with brightness beaming

And, morning has broken through the darkness.

~ Winters Watermark

Winters Watermark
Again, the reed songs calling
Accompanied by bedside peeps
Mommas singing a lullaby
While baby softly sleeps
Twilight seems to linger
On this blessed day
As if the sounds of nature
Bid it linger, stay
And I sit in silent awe
Amazed by such beauty
Thankful for the passage of time
Of winter days dark and dreary
Still I know before me
There would be no bud, no bloom
If the great winter of discontent
Hadn’t left its watermark, residuum

~ Broken Spell

~ Broken Spell

Day unfolded as if A spell of spun gold

Ribbons, layers of ribbons
Adorned the brilliance
In colour coded stratus clouds infused
Taking flight, the mighty eagle soars majestic
An Icarus, I feared he’d touch the sun
Only to dive swift towards the placid waters
Where the fir pines stand as sentinels at guard
Roaming the banks the white tail cautious
Nearing the waters edge to satiate nights thirst
In tow, freckled fawns times three frolic
With sudden need all attempt to feed pushing, shoving
Squirrels scamper from limb to limb
They – natures acrobats perform –
Circling the tree base round and round and round
As if they too know to play, “catch me if you can”
A sudden splash and all goes quiet
The waters ripple out in circles upon circles
The fisherman has arrived, tackle box in tow;
Broken is freedoms spell as he nets his first catch

Dawn drops her heavenly veil
Dispelling the darkness…

Resplendent is the day.

Lavender laced hue
Delightfully, day dawning
Ribbons in the sky
