~ Final Destination of a Libertine ~

~ Final Destination of a Libertine ~

You left a watermark
A sluggish
Murky mark
On the hearts of many
Those charmed
By wit and whinnying –
Rehearsed stories told
Tragedies falsified;
Softening the heart of woman
Many a women
Jumping from pond to pond
Or perhaps, better yet,
Flower after flower
As a determined bee
Penetrating to the core
Not admired
But deplorable
To the man of honor
A quality you never held
Never heard of
Scoffed at

Year after year
You played your game
‘Til Time found you
Chased you down
Gazed upon your countenance –
Face laced and lined;
A map of your life displayed
Alone, retched
In need of loving care
But, no one, no one was there
To fill the void
Witness the tears
Of your twilight years!
