~ Saturday Flea Market Observation ~

People converge here, some
Selling their wares and tares
Some seeking treasures –
History on the tables
On beds of grass
Scattered cross gravel
Hanging off car door windows

Stories are told here
As “neighbors for a day”
Pass the time
Waiting between the lines –
Current events are a hot topic
As an old man relives, compares
Then and now
I just smile and listen to

Children in towe as little ducklings
Waddell, in wonderment
Glancing this way and that
At the colours, bright colours
Of tables of toys on toys
A “Santa in July” look
Sparkles in their eyes
Squeals of delight resonate
Another satisfied customer
Ching, ching goes the change.
